| On the end of August 2007, in Buenos Aires has been held SICOT meeting. The majority of participants were from South America. Between the main topics was treatment of open fractures of long bones. External fixation still remains the main primary method but internal fixation is more and more in use in second time. It has been used for femur but now for tibia as well. In the field of treatment of closed fractures it has been presented papers regarding riming for IM nail and complications regarding plating. During this meeting it has been accepted founding of World Association for External Fixation.
